12.5 Weeks Pregnant with TWINS

I have some friends that want me to post some pictures of my belly. So this is me 12.5 weeks pregnant with twins. I have not decided yet if I just look fat, or actually look pregnant. LOL

I just wanted to say that we are really excited for the whole twin thing. I will admit that I am so nervous, because I planned on having A baby for a long time. But having twins, there is a lot of things I need to rethink of how I am going to do things. I have bought some books about twins. And have asked many of my friends that have had twins, lots of questions. I am just full of questions right now.

Rocky said that the moment he found out that they were twins, it was the happiest day of his life! He is going to be such a great daddy. Rocky's mom and sister even started to plan on coming down to Utah for the birth of the babies. They were not going to come at first, but once they found out it was twins, they want to be here for it.

I just hope everything goes smoothly too. I guess I am being a mom, and am starting to worry about a lot of things. Like what happens if something goes wrong, and they are born early. That is a lot of the reason I even changed hospitals, once I heard they were twins. Before I was going to deliver in a small hospital in Payson, UT. Now I am planning on delivering at Utah Valley Regional Hospital in Provo, UT. They have a great NICU for premature babies. But hopefully I will be able to deliver at full term. Which is interesting that full term for twins is 37 weeks. But I guess most twins are born about 35 weeks. So that means I should have them around the end of June or the beginning of July, instead of July 27.

On Feb 7,2011, my doctor scheduled me for an extra ultrasound. All the signs point to that they are fraternal twins. They are in two different sacs, I have a cyst on each ovary, etc. But in the last ultrasound she could not tell if they were in one placenta or two. So we are going to find that out. I will almost be 16 weeks then, and am hoping they will be able to tell me what the sexes are. But we will not know until I get there. They maybe positioned weird, too small, etc. But I hope they will be able to tell me. If not, I will be getting another ultrasound at 19 or 20 weeks which should be the beginning of March. That is when most people find out the sex.

I guess I am just blabbering. There is just so much on my mind. I will keep everyone posted though. :)

  1. Hey Emily,

I know nothing about the experience of being pregnant, but I personally think you've got a cute baby bump. :)

You came up on my mind today and I was thinking about all the great work you do for others. I hope you and your family are doing well!

  2. You look pregnant not fat. You are going to be a great Mom! I don't have twins (at least not yet..knock on wood) but I know you will do great. You have a lot of love to give and that's really all they need.
